Any fans of the Catherine Marshall novel and movie/television series Christy? The Marshall novel is based on her mother's work in East TN. In 1909, Leonora Whitaker left home and family to travel to a missionary school in Del Rio, TN.

The movie and television series were filmed in Townsend as well as Del Rio, both of which are within an hour's drive or so of the Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com.
