Winter Heritage Festival is Feb 3-6

The Winter Heritage Festival in Townsend, TN is, according to the Smoky Mountain Convention and Visitors Bureau, a festival to celebrate "the depth and breadth of the Smoky Mountains tradition."

Head over there from the Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com beginning February 3rd and ending the 6th for music, hikes, and history. There will be experts on birdwatching, photography, Smoky Mountain history, and Cherokee Indians. A Civil War encampment is set for Saturday at the Visitors Center, including a barbecue, a highland dance performance and a square dance at the Barn Event Center of the Smokies.
