Historical buildings in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

There are about 80 buildings of historical interest preserved within the borders of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park including houses, barns, outbuildings, churches, schools and grist mills. They are scattered around the park, and finding them depends on how you prefer to tour: on foot, bike, horse or by car. For example, Cades Cove might best be a bike-riders route, but the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail in Gatlinburg, well, obviously, is far auto-tours.

The Nature Trail is just 5-miles long and offers spectacular photo-opportunities, including not only some of the historical buildings, but also old-growth forests and mountain streams.
You can start the trail near traffic light #8 in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg.
