Autumn's Splendor: Leaf peeping around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

We used to live way up north near the Canadian border. Lots to love about most anywhere in these beautiful United States, but one of the many things we love about the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee is the fall. Why? Because the beauty and fresh crisp air lasts so long! Yes, the colors were beautiful "up there" but the fall went by in the blink of the eye. Summer... Blink...Winter!

Summer's humidity is gone from Gatlinburg now, and the leaves are starting to turn. And best of all,  we'll be enjoying the color for many weeks, watching from the cabin's decks, as the change gradually decends the mountains (Great Smokies). from the decks.
